Mercedes Carves Out Plan to Go Green


Mercedes said it is developing the next-gen eMotors in house with key strategic partners CATL, Farasis and Sila Nano.

Mercedes-Benz AG took the wraps off what it is calling a “new strategic course,” pursuing “profitable growth in the luxury segment and target leadership in EVs and car software.” Ola Källenius, Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG chairman of the board of management, speaking at a virtual investor and analyst conference, said that while Mercedes has recently been doing many things right, including design, product engineering, brand rejuvenation, and sales growth, the company has not yet “lived up to our full potential in terms of turning volume success into profit growth.” Thus the new strategy.
