Bill is the Chief Operating Officer at Sila and manages the manufacturing, supply chain, and process and equipment engineering teams. Prior to Sila, Bill was Executive Vice President of Global Operations at SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ: SPWR). Prior to that, Bill was CEO SolarBridge Technologies until it was acquired by SunPower in 2014. Prior to SolarBridge, Bill served 12 years as Vice President of R&D for SunPower, during which time SunPower grew annual revenues from $8 million to more than $2.2 billion. Under his leadership, SunPower developed and commercialized the world’s highest efficiency solar panel. Prior to SunPower, Bill held positions at JX Crystals, the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL), AstroPower, Fairchild, and National Semiconductor.

Bill holds a PhD in materials science from the Colorado School of Mines, an MSE in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, and a BS in chemistry and a BA in history from the University of Washington. He has co-authored 11 patents and over 30 publications.
